Abstract

In the vast majority of anterior mediastinal masses a biopsy is necessary in order to plan the treatment. A number of techniques are available and the choice and sequence of them are related to the size, morphology, localization, clinical diagnosis, age of the patient and skill of the operator and of the pathologist.
