Abstract

Functions are a powerful programming model for event-driven applications. In this chapter, you will learn what Azure Functions are and what hosting models they support. Later on, you will get introduced to the capabilities of the integration between Azure Functions and Dapr. To put all knowledge into practice, I will walk you through building a simple function-based application that leverages several of the Dapr building blocks – Service Invocation, Publish and Subscribe, and State Management.
