Abstract
Azure Site Recovery (ASR) is one of the most prominent and highly regarded DR services offered by Azure for use in cloud and hybrid cloud architectures. ASR is the only available DR platform that makes it possible for Azure VMs, Hyper-V, physical on-premises systems, and VMware to fail over to and successfully fail back once a disaster has resolved. Microsoft Azure Site Recovery is the only public cloud solution that offers a native DR solution for applications running on Internet as a Service (IaaS) VMs. ASR helps to reduce costs by eliminating secondary datacenters and large, up-front third-party software purchases with complex learning curves. ASR is very simple to deploy and easy to manage, as you can administer it entirely through the Azure portal and using Azure Site Recovery PowerShell.
