Abstract

This chapter will look at automating the build and release process, otherwise known as a pipeline. Continuous delivery and release automation (CDRA) is a modern software development technique that automates many of the tasks involved in building and releasing software. Azure has a wide range of support for CDRA, and in general, can be split into two categories: continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD). Typically, CI focuses on the building of an application, whereas CD focuses more on the release or delivery of software.
