Abstract

This chapter focuses on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), a wireless communication widely used between two devices in close proximity to each other. Products choose to use BLE instead of Wi-Fi if minimizing energy use is particularly important and when direct communication with another device, such as a mobile phone, is an acceptable alternative to internet access.
