Abstract
The information that some companies collect is an asset in and of itself due to the power of data. Working for a startup that specialized in providing data to local businesses, I focused on collecting menus from local businesses, primarily restaurants. With a database of all food items and their prices sold at restaurants, I was able to learn some interesting facts! What is the average price of a pizza in San Francisco? Which restaurants within a five-mile radius of my hotel have kimchi on the menu? No problem. Collecting unique data might allow you to answer previously unanswerable questions.
