Straightening Photos of Paintings

Abstract

We are sometimes interested in taking photos of paintings shown in an exhibition. If the room is purely illuminated then it is necessary to use a flash. However, if you put the camera directly in front of the painting, the flash reflects in the pane of the painting, and the photo is spoiled. It is necessary to take the photo from the side to avoid the reflection. Then, however, the image of the painting is distorted (Figure 10-1).
