Abstract
When talking about Visual Studio Code, you will often hear that it is not a simple code editor. This is certainly true, and the reason is that it allows executing operations such as compiling and testing code by running external tools. In this chapter you will learn how Code can execute external programs via tasks, by both learning about existing tasks and configuring custom tasks.
