Abstract

A burn down chart is an information radiator that visually depicts a “value trajectory” of the sprint/iteration. Based on the number of story points an agile team is historically able to “burn down” during each sprint (“velocity”), the burn down chart helps the product owner, agile team, and leadership to understand whether or not they will deliver the desired business value and functionality that was identified in the forecast during sprint/iteration planning.
