Abstract

Once you’ve figured out who your audience is and where they tend to congregate, the next logical question usually relates to events. Connecting with people online is important and a good way to observe trends, but meeting up in person allows you to get to know the actual people in your community on a different level. While talking on Twitter and even on video chat is a great first and second step, face-to-face interactions build on those online relationships in ways you can’t predict otherwise. (Pro tip: when facilitating a conference for your community, include their Slack or Twitter handles on their badges so they can easily identify online friends and colleagues.)
