Abstract

A key tenet of enterprise DevOps is externalization, which is the configuration or parameterization of code. The configuration is stored apart from the code itself. Externalization promotes code reuse and supports decoupling, both best practices in software development. In this chapter, I focus on externalizing SSIS connection manager connection string properties because I believe it is an SSIS best practice to manage SSIS project and package connection strings via external configurations.
