Abstract

For several years, the ASP.NET Web API has been the framework from Microsoft that developers could use to create RESTful services that a broad range of clients, such as browsers, desktop applications, and mobile apps, can consume via HTTP and HTTPS requests based on the most common verbs such as GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE.
