  • Kishori Sharan

The chapters  2,  4,  9,  11,  12 and  14 have been revised. These have been replaced with the updated version of the chapters.

  1. 1.

The books’ contents were correct at the time of publication. Please note that the book was written based on the current version of JDK 9, which was under development. JDK 9 is still under development.

  2. 2.

As the JDK 9 release date approached, Oracle made few changes to JDK 9 that made the contents of the book incorrect. These changes are still in a separate codebase at Oracle and they still under testing. However, these changes have been approved, which will eventually make it to the final release.

  3. 3.
    Changes are:
    1. a)

Two command-line options' name have changed. One command-line option involves only the name change and its output format. For another option, the name has changed and also how the option works, which is a significant change. The second change makes a section in the book incorrect.

    2. b)

      A method name has changed.
