Abstract
Now that we have created an Availability Group and made sure it’s configured correctly, let’s take a look at how to fully leverage the features provided by this technology within SQL Server. The secondary replicas participating in the Availability Group maintain redundant copies of the production data on the primary replica. Wouldn’t it be nice to leverage the redundant copies and the processing power on the secondary replicas to offload some of the production workload? The readable secondary feature within Always On Availability Groups allows you to do that.
