Abstract

Arduino, an open source electronics prototyping platform, started in 2003, so it has been here since the very beginning of the “Internet of Things” (IoT) concept as we understand it now. In fact, the advent of low-cost prototyping platforms like Arduino is one of the cornerstones that have allowed this emerging revolution to happen, supporting both the do-it-yourself concept and the maker movement.
