Abstract

Because Oracle GoldenGate is a heterogeneous replication tool, it lends itself to many unique and diverse environments. These unique environments require some sort of monitoring to ensure a healthy and well-oiled replicating environment. Traditionally monitoring tools provide common features, including graphical tools, for recording events and providing opportunities for analysis within the environment. This chapter takes a look at how you can monitor Oracle GoldenGate from the command line, using scripts, and what tools are available at a graphical layer. Many of these approaches are common in everyday environments.
