Abstract

If people have to wear heavy gloves and still need to give input to any machine more complex than a pedal to press, then emerging technologies can help. Some of these technologies have been around for a while; they are just not used on the factory floor. An example is Microsoft’s Kinect, which allows you to give commands by waving your hands.

“The radical invents the views. When he has worn them out, the conservative adopts them.”

—Mark Twain
