Abstract
Resource Governor provides a method for throttling applications at the SQL Server layer by imposing limits on CPU, memory, and physical IO on different classifications of connection. This chapter discusses the concepts the Resource Governor uses before demonstrating how to implement it. We then look at how to monitor the effect that Resource Governor has on resource utilization.
