Chapter 7: The STL Containers

  • Bruce Sutherland

The Standard Template Library (STL) consists of a standard set of functionality that implementers are required to support. Creating a standard ensures that code can be used interchangeably on different platforms and operating systems as long as the supplied implementations conform to that standard. A large part of the standard defines a set of containers that can be used to store data structures. This chapter looks at different scenarios where each of the STL containers prove useful.
