Abstract

The time has come to create your first box. In this chapter, you will adopt a manual procedure: initialize a new base box using the pristine Ubuntu 14.04 and then install the software by hand, running appropriate commands. Once the guest contains the necessary packages and tools, you will export it to a file. This is a basic solution to generate a new base box. Even though it can be a tedious process, the possibilities it offers are just great. With your box at hand, you can introduce Vagrant in your workflow. I will show you how to do this by creating an imaginary project called “Corporate Blog.”
