Comparing the Criticised Concepts of ‘Re-Engineering the Corporation’ with a Systems Structure for Organisational Change

The recent set of articles critical of the concept ‘Re-engineering the Business’, the report by CSC Index, and the Hammer and Champy book ‘Re-engineering the Corporation’ (1993), require a basis or structure for assessment of the results and realistic value of this offered method of organisational reorganisation. Nine simple principles from systems thinking are assembled into a model of essential aspects of any organisational development methodology.
