Abstract
Zinc is 23rd among the elements in relative abundance in the earth’s crust, amounting to 0.013%, compared with aluminum’s 8.13% and iron’s 5.0%. However, it ranks fourth among the metals in worldwide production and consumption, behind only iron, aluminum, and copper [527].
