Abstract
The electron impact ionization of molecules is of growing interest. Most previous work has considered molecular targets, such as H2, which are not oriented in space, see e.g. Weigold1, Cherid et al.2 and references therein. Experiments are now possible using both surfaces and fields to orient molecules, e.g. Palmer et al.3, Volkmer et al.4, and our knowledge of the ionization process will be further tested in new geometries.
