Abstract

For the last ten years I have been attempting to bridge the gap between the clinical concerns of cognitive-semantic therapists (e.g., George Kelley, Jerome Frank, Albert Ellis, Aaron Beck, and Jerome L. Singer) and the technology of behavior therapy. The present book is a description of that attempt and of the current state of the bridge. It is a progress report of research designed to explicate the role of cognitive factors in behavior modification.
