Abstract

A specific study of the development of children’s drawings of buildings is more than an investigation into the development of drawings. If drawings are the result of sign processes, such a study also entails investigating the development of sign processes in general. I have called this overall investigation “developmental semiotics” in analogy to “developmental psychology,” the study of psychological development of children (Krampen, 1981, 1986a).
