Abstract

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) can quantify a wide variety of regional biochemical and physiological processes within the organs of living and intact humans and lower animals. Measurements from a PET camera offer researchers and clinicians a non-invasive biological probe. Today, no other biological imaging modality can match PET’s versatility, non-invasiveness, and performance in quantifying the cellular processes of health and disease.
