Abstract

Vitamin B12 is the precursor of coenzyme B12, an essential component of a group of enzymes responsible for the catalysis of various novel molecular rearrangements in which a hydrogen and one of several R groups are exchanged positionally as follows -CHR-CH2X → -CH2-CHRX.
