Abstract
An important role of serotonin (5-HT) in sensitization and conditioning was disclosed by experiments in which noxious stimulation or noxious reinforcement was used in Aplysia (Kandel and Schwartz, 1982; Klein et al., 1982). The present chapter describes the results of investigations of the role of 5-HT in sensitization and aversive conditioning in adult and juvenile land snails, Helix lucorum.
