Thermal Methods: Calorimetry, Differential Thermal Analysis, and Thermogravimetry

  • Chapter
Catalyst Characterization

Part of the book series: Fundamental and Applied Catalysis ((FACA))

Abstract

Calorimetry and the simpler method of differential thermal analysis both contribute to the study of internal transformations of a sample, or reactions of a sample with the exterior, and mass transfers associated with liberation or absorption of energy. Thermogravimetry, which is a process of weighing is specific to reactions with a mass transfer.
