Abstract
This symposium, “Cancer, AIDS and Quality of Life,” has focused on the quality of life issues of individuals and societies in managing the challenges facing patients with AIDS or with advanced cancers. There is a clear and urgent need to develop better programs and generate more financial resources for appropriate supportive care that can be provided to improve the quality of life for so many in the late stages of these diseases (1).
