Abstract
The dose distribution of photons emitted in the Gadolinium Neutron Capture Therapy (GdNCT) reaction has been studied by several authors. Most often, Monte Carlo simulations are used. For our study, we wanted to theoretically calculate the dose distribution from GdNCT based on the most fundamental dosimetric relations. The purpose was to compare our results to those from Monte Carlo techniques both to check the validity of our assumptions and to provide a theoretical explanation for the results found by other authors.
