Abstract

Anorexia and bulimia nervosa (DSM-III-R, 1987) are disorders of unknown etiology which are characterized by alterations of appetitive behavior and distortions of body image. Eating disorder patients have dysphoric mood (Hudson et al., 1983a) and various forms of hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction.
