Abstract
During the past decade considerable knowledge has accumulated concerning the role of zinc in cellular immunity. It has been known for many years that zinc deficiency in experimental animals results in atrophy of thymic and lymphoid tissue (Prasad and Oberleas, 1971). These changes are associated with a variety of functional abnormalities.
