Interconnections amongst Anamorphs and their Possible Contribution to Ascomycete Systematics

  • Chapter
Ascomycete Systematics

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSA,volume 269))

Summary

Previous attempts at syntheses between ascomycete classifications and systems proposed for deuteromycetes (mainly based on conidiogenesis) are reviewed. Problems surrounding previous and current attempts at correlative work are emphasized. The relationships between non-lichenized ascomycetes and the latest concepts and terminology on conidiogenesis in anamorphs are reassessed. The anamorph-teleomorph connections in the Sclerotiniaceae, Pezizaceae and Mycosphaerella are treated in more detail.
