Active Wavelength Demodulation for Bragg Grating Strain Sensors
An active wavelength demodulation system based on an acousto-optic tunable filter has been demonstrated, suitable for use with intracore Bragg grating fiber optic sensors. A wavelength measurement precision of 0.02 nm was achieved for this initial system. Potential for further system improvement is discussed.
