HIV/AIDS Awareness Activities in Palestine: The Case of Gaza and West Bank

  • Chapter
AIDS Education

Abstract

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has initiated several health education and research activities to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. Though the prevalence of HIV infection among the Palestinian population is low, the risk of spreading the disease is significant as the social life in Palestinian society becomes more open and free. The activities are designed to target three population groups: adolescents and young adults, health professionals, and people with HIV/AIDS and their families.
