Flux Pinning by Perovskite Type Impurities in YBa2Cu3O6+x

Abstract

In order to improve the critical currrent density of YBa2Cu3O6+x , a total of nine perovskite-type impurities were examined. As a result, only two phases of BaSnO3 and BaZrO3 were stable in the host. TEM observation showed a homogeneous distribution of fine particles semicoherently in the matrix. Very high intragrain critical current density was observed for the specimens with BaSnO3, BaZrO3 and SrZrO3 additions.
