Liquid nitrogen is used to condense vapors evolved from liquid hydrocarbons or chemicals during marine loading operations. The paper describes the major components of the system and points out the controls and other criteria which must be installed to comply with 33CFR154, Subpart E. Advantages and disadvantages of the system are discussed.
