Abstract
It is the purpose of this chapter to show how low temperatures may be used to advantage in the preparation, examination, and analysis of organic samples converting the liquid phases of the specimen to a solid. In this context, the temperature range which will be considered is that at which water is in a solid state, i.e., 0–273 K.
