Abstract
Measurements are reported of the thermopowers of the α-phase alloy systems of Zn, Ga, Ge and As in Ag from about 0.85K to 50K. All the systems show some evidence of Fe contamination in the 5K region. The data have been fitted with
to determine the diffusion, phonon drag and iron impurity terms. The values obtained for the constants and the standard deviation of the fits indicate that other mechanisms are needed for a full explanation.
