Abstract
The initial shock when parents learn their child is allergic can be distressing. Parents invariably want to know: “Why our child?” “Will our other children come down with the same thing?” “Will it develop into asthma?” They then eye each other, either in the doctor’s office or back home, and wonder if the partner or their own self is somehow at fault.
