Neuropsychological Assessment for Planning Cognitive Interventions
Chapter
Abstract
Neuropsychological assessment has changed in focus over the last decade from an emphasis on determining lesion localization to delineation of brain-behavior relationships and the establishment of functional strengths and weaknesses. This understanding of brain-behavior relationships and the pattern of strengths and deficits is essential to planning rehabilitation of the brain-damaged patient. In this chapter, the relationship between rehabilitation of cognitive deficits and neuropsychological assessment will be discussed.
