Regulation of Epidermal Proliferation

  • B. A. Berenbein

Unraveling the mechanisms by which cells proliferate represents one of the greatest challenges for biomedical research today. It is the proliferation of epithelial cells and of epidermal cells in particular that is the major determinant of hyperplastic and neoplastic processes all the way from reactive to precancerous hyperplasia through cancerous lesions in situ to invasive squamous cell carcinoma.
