Abstract
The points of the surface form a closed set of points O from which P is at a certain minimum distance. This minimum distance can be attained only at a point M of the surface such that the direction of every curve element on O emanating from the point M is perpendicular to the straight line MP. Thus M cannot be situated at a corner nor on an edge but must be in the interior of a face of the polyhedron.
