Abstract

The results of the Dutch Sixty Plus Reinfarction Study revived the discussion on the effectiveness of long-term oral anticoagulation after myocardial infarction (1,2). This study showed that adequately maintained and sufficiently intensive oral anticoagualtion has a beneficical effect especially on the rate of fatal and nonfatal reinfarction, but also on mortality (1).
