Abstract
In the course of our continued investigations on membranolytic toxins from marine organisms we have discovered that many toxin-producing animals contain unusual sterols instead of cholesterol in their free sterol fractions. We call as “biochemical coordination” the phenomenon, which involves the mutually conditioned presence of two different series of natural products in biological organisms.
