Abstract
I am privileged to introduce to you a highly talented and articulate panel. My esteemed colleagues will address specific policies and their impact on minorities in the area of biomedical and behavioral sciences. The effect of such policies on higher education will be discussed. I shall use what time I have to discuss the environment and the general milieu within which these policies ought to be generated, examined, and implemented and to suggest some strategies for consideration in the generation of new policies that affect the training of minorities in the health sciences.
