Abstract
Consider a path going up on a mountain. The average slope is the ratio of the height increment over the length of the projection of the path onto the level plane. In this chapter, we study the properties of the average slope and develop some tools based on these properties.
The creative person is both more primitive and more cultivated, ... , than the average person.
