Abstract

The free-running, passive Q-switching, and self-mode-locking regimes are studied experimen-tally for a ruby laser at temperatures near 100°K. Features of lasing associated with the possibility of obtaining large gains (up to 0.5 cm-1) in this active medium are considered in detail.
