Abstract

The justification for investment in advanced manufacturing technology is a complex subject. This book shows that very many factors need to be taken into account, and that a number of techniques exist for evaluation and financial analysis. However, no one technique is measurably superior to all others, and it is accordingly recommended that any one project is analysed in several ways when comparison between projects (or between a project and maintaining the existing system) is being made.
